UVCLAD exterior HPL sheets for walls, gates and ceilings
Fade-resistant exterior HPL cladding in wooden, stone, marble and solid colour series. Built for Indian sun and monsoon, with no painting, no polishing and no termite worries.
What makes exterior HPL different
Exterior HPL is a dense compact panel made from resin-impregnated paper layers pressed under heat and pressure, finished with a UV-resistant decorative face. The colour runs through the surface layer, so it does not peel like paint, and the core resists water and termites.
Not every laminate is meant for outdoors. Interior-grade sheets fade and delaminate in sun and rain, so check the grade before buying. For ideas on using it on a facade, read our guide to HPL front elevation design ideas.
UVCLAD design series
Wooden series
Warm teak, walnut and oak grains for gates, ceilings and feature walls.
Stone series
Textured stone looks without the weight or cost of real stone.
Marble series
Clean veined finishes for premium entrances and facades.
Solid colour series
Plain shades to pair with wood or stone accents.
Where to use UVCLAD exterior HPL
One material across the whole frontage gives a consistent look. Match the gate, ceiling and wall panels from the same series for a finished result.
Exterior walls and elevations
Fixed on a ventilated frame, HPL shields the wall from direct sun and rain and cuts repainting for years.
Main gates and compound gates
Get a wood look on a steel frame without yearly polishing. Cladding both sides keeps the gate balanced.
Porch, balcony and parking ceilings
Panels stay flat in humidity and monsoon, unlike gypsum or plywood.
- Low upkeep. Wash with water and mild soap.
- Termite proof and rot proof. No swelling or cracking like timber.
- Lighter than stone. Less load on upper floors.
- Fade resistant. UV-resistant face made for strong sun.
- Easy to cut and fix. Works with rivets, screws or concealed clips on aluminium or GI frames.
- Long-term value. Saves on repainting and repair.
Which thickness to choose
| Application | Thickness | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Wall and elevation cladding | 6 or 8 mm | Standard for ventilated facades |
| High-rise or large panels | 8 to 12 mm | More stiffness for wind load |
| Gate cladding over a frame | 6 or 8 mm | Frame carries the load |
| Slat or strip gates | 10 or 12 mm | Spans gaps and needs strength |
| Porch and balcony ceilings | 6 mm | Strong yet light for overhead fixing |
| Large-span or parking ceilings | 6 or 8 mm | Extra stiffness for wider panels |
Standard sheet size is 8 × 4 ft (2440 × 1220 mm). Send your measurements and we will suggest the layout with the least wastage.
Exterior HPL compared with paint, WPC and ACP
| Exterior HPL | Paint | WPC | ACP | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Look | Realistic wood, stone, marble | Flat colour | Wood-like, less detail | Flat and metallic |
| Scratch resistance | High | Low | Low to medium | Medium, can dent |
| Sun and fading | UV-resistant face | Fades, needs repainting | Can fade and chalk | Coating dependent |
| Water and termites | Resistant | Does not protect | Resistant | Waterproof |
How installation works
Panels are fixed on an aluminium or GI sub-frame with stainless-steel rivets, screws or concealed clips. A small air gap behind the panel lets moisture dry out, and slight gaps between sheets allow for expansion. For gates, a powder-coated MS, SS or aluminium frame is used.

Frequently asked questions
What is an exterior HPL sheet?
An exterior HPL sheet is a compact high pressure laminate panel, usually 6 to 12 mm thick, with a UV-resistant decorative surface. It is made for outdoor use on walls, gates and ceilings and does not need paint or polish.
Will UVCLAD HPL fade in Indian sun?
Exterior-grade HPL with a UV-resistant surface is made to resist fading. Interior laminate used outdoors will fade and delaminate, so always choose exterior grade for outdoor work.
Which thickness should I choose for an exterior wall?
6 mm or 8 mm is the usual choice for ventilated wall cladding. For high-rise facades or large panels, 8 to 12 mm gives extra stiffness against wind load.
Can HPL be used on main gates?
Yes. Exterior HPL is fixed on a powder-coated MS, SS or aluminium frame. 6 or 8 mm suits cladding over a frame, while 10 or 12 mm suits slat-style gates.
Can I use HPL for porch and balcony ceilings?
Yes. 6 mm exterior HPL is commonly used for porch, balcony and parking ceilings. It resists moisture and termites and does not sag like gypsum or plywood.
How do I clean exterior HPL?
Wipe or wash with water and mild soap. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads.
